OH BABY - NAIL COLOR LOVE - My Lifestyle Memoir

For those of you who have gone through all the lovely changes that come along with a pregnancy, you know that sometimes a little self love is needed. There is already so many restrictions and limitations while being pregnant. Having pretty nails could not be one of them for me. Today I am sharing with you my current nail color love! Nothing will stop this girl from feeling girly with her nails!

BYE BYE SHELLAC

I used to get my shellac manicure on a religious basis. Once you start you can’t stop… and nothing could stop me from getting them done. Well… one thing did stop me! Once I knew I was pregnant I know shellac wasn’t the best for me. When I went I found the UV light to be way too strong for me and it was actually painful to get my nails done. That is when I knew my shellac nail habits needed to change. I truly did love getting my shellac nails done and they would last me a few weeks.

I tested out a few different nail color brands and I have to say Essie has been amazing. Let’s start off by saying I am no pro at putting on polish… I am one of those who is all over the place. Pretty much can’t-color-within-the-lines type of person! I needed a polish that was forgiving enough yet still made me feel girly and like I got my stuff together. Which really I don’t! Keeping with all things pink I wanted to find a pale pink, always white polish. I didn’t want to fully go all white as with time it starts to turn a bit yellow, so the pink prevents that from happening. As an added sparkle I found that they have a glitter top coat. The more glitter the better… well in my eyes!

I went with the Lace Me Up – pale pink nail polish color. As per a top coat, I went with the effects called Set In Stones. The effects top coat help cover the imperfections of my base coat… I am no pro. This color combination has to be one of my favourites so far! I do venture a little outside the pink shades haha… but with all things being pale pink right now as I wait for the arrival of my little baby girl I can’t escape pink. This habit is not only with nails but with my lip color as well. I can’t help but have a million shades of pink from all sorts of brands.
