Happy New Year everyone! It is crazy to think that we are already in 2020… where is time going!? This Christmas season was a lot more special for everyone in our family… Kensi was with us. I know for her it wasn’t anything special because she doesn’t understand what was going on but for us it was super special. I couldn’t wait for her to open presents, to hear Christmas with her, to start new traditions. The whole works!
I know understand my parents, what truly matters is making your child happy. You don’t get it until you have your own. I know that this Christmas was more about me then her… and that’s ok! Thinking about it, I probably haven’t been this excited about a Christmas in years. I couldn’t wait to wrap her presents, for her to open them… to play with them. To see her reaction to them… right now it is all an amazed, I want to put it in my mouth phase, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
We celebrated Christmas for three days, it was a perfect balance because we got to see all of our family and had a day with my little family. Of course, an early morning (no shock there, new borns LOVE to wake up super early hehe), and then we had some breakfast with eggnog… and maybe a little hehe! We actually re-created this drink that I published last year ‘Gin Rummy & Nog‘. Then we proceeded to opening presents. The best part of it all was watching her eyes just open up super wide every time there was a new toy. She was very spoiled by everyone and loves it all.
Some of the traditions that I want to do as she gets older is all having matching pjs for Christmas. Yes, I am that mom! and I love it hehe!! I would love to bake with her and create gingerbread houses. Watch tons of those cheese Christmas movies and cuddle by the fireplace. I know this sound like very basic traditions, but I can’t wait to do them with her! Also, I would also like to incorporate something that matters to her. I know for this it will be later on in life, but I want her to feel like it’s her Christmas traditions as well.
As per a New Year’s resolution, I decided not to create a blog post about it. I think of me given how last year went I would just like to focus more on my physical and mental health. Also having a little me time once a week would also be a nice added bonus!
