It’s hard to believe that I am doing a nursery reveal blog post!! it feels a little real but not at the same time. I must say I am very pleased with how things turned out in our little girl’s room… the theme shouldn’t surprise you at all. Pink and flowers hehe… could you expect anything else from me? I am just in love with her room and find it so calming for some reason. Well… until the late night cries! Being the planner that I am and having found out the sex of the baby at 10 weeks it really did give me the chance to find the products that I wanted. This nursery reveal is a mixture of modern and farmhouse, just like the rest of my home. I wanted to make sure that the nursery fit in well.
NURSERY REVEAL – INSPIRATION
Keeping with all things farmhouse, the nursery had to be incorporated with the current theme of the house. The color palette for the room was pretty much the same as the rest of the house but more emphasis on the pink. Pink, white, grey and touches of metals were my idea. There is a fine balance between farmhouse and nursery, it’s hard not to make it feel super farmhouse. I knew that building on the peony flower wall stickers from Rocky Mountain Decals was the right touch. They brought in my love for flowers and blended in well with the farmhouse feel. Adding the touches of flowers just made it so girly while keeping it elegant at the same time. It took a bit of practice to get the flowers on right but once you get the hand of it, it is easy to install.
FURNITURE LOVE
Given that the space is not huge I didn’t want to make it feel super tight with the furniture. I decided to have the changing table in the closet as her clothes at the moment are super tiny! This allowed the rest of the room to be more spread out and made it more calming for me. The metal crib is by far my favourite piece of furniture. I love that it is all white metal with touches of distress. Keeping with all things white, and to add some balancing white to the other side of the room, I went with a white reclining chair for those late nights. The white stained nightstand and dresser have the same hardware from the master bedroom furniture to tie it all together. You can find all the details on the ‘HOME TOUR – BEDROOM DESIGN‘
ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS
In order to make this room feel like a nursery I chose the IKEA FLISAT wall storage and used them to store books as well as to showcase clothes. By painting them black and pink they integrated some of those colours from the rest of the room. I am just such a penguin lover that when I found this penguin nursery print on Etsy I had to have it! Since this was a flower room I added a touch of flowers with a metal wall vase. I created a place to showcase her pictures or future drawings with a DIY farm style wood and paper clips glued-on. This was super inexpensive to create and just added the perfect touch of farmhouse style to my baby girl’s nursery.
Well there you have it, my baby girl’s nursery reveal. It’s crazy to think that just in a matter of weeks she will be with us and changing our lives forever.
